The restaurant content calendar we use across every venue (steal it)
Most restaurant social media fails because the cadence is wrong. Either too aggressive (followers tune out) or too sporadic (the algorithm forgets you exist). Here is the calendar we run for every client venue. It is boring on purpose.
The weekly skeleton
- Monday — Behind-the-scenes Reel. Prep, plating, kitchen banter. 30-45 seconds, sound on.
- Tuesday — Hero dish photo. The single best plate of the week. One image, no carousel.
- Wednesday — Story takeover. Front-of-house or kitchen runs the Stories all day with polls and questions.
- Thursday — Carousel: 5 swipes deep. Menu reveal, ingredient story, or a chef explainer.
- Friday — Weekend Reel. Hook the local market for Saturday bookings. Sound on, fast cuts.
- Saturday — Live Story coverage of service. Booth shots, cocktail pours, plating in real time.
- Sunday — One quiet post. A staff feature, a guest review screenshot, or a single dish. Low effort, but always present so the algorithm keeps you in the rotation.
Why this works
It mixes content types Instagram rewards (Reels, carousels, Stories) without exhausting your team. Every day has exactly one decision to make. The team knows what to shoot before service even starts.
The non-negotiables
Three things that hold this together: (1) every Reel has a hook in the first 1.2 seconds. (2) Every post is geo-tagged. (3) Every DM gets a reply within 4 hours.
